Explode this hindrance to hearing God’s voice…
For any properly laid foundation, first the builders had to clear away any obstacles. When building a house, usually these obstacles are things like dirt and stones.
Likewise, as part of laying the foundation, I'm going to help you clear away some dirt and stones; things that hinder a lot of people from hearing God speak as they could.
I used the headline on this site: “How you can hear God like a prophet” because it's possible for you to hear God just like Jesus hears the voice of God.
This headline is actually two ideas and topics I’ve brought together into one:
- hearing God’s voice.
- prophets.
In both areas, the majority of people are not highly knowledgeable.
And that’s ok.
It’s like me being at the same level of knowledge as a car mechanic or a brain surgeon in their specialties.
They are experts in their field for a reason. They have studied and practiced and usually spent hours, days and years to reach their level of expertise.
But it's also true that it's important to have a certain level of knowledge.
For example, if you don’t know even the very basics of a car, you could easily wreck it. Not only in driving it. But how to properly maintain it. Like…
- how to put in gas.
- how to check the oil.
- how to tell if your tires are good or not.
- how to drive safely.
- and more.
If you put the wrong type of fuel in, you could destroy the engine. That's a costly mistake.
On the same token, you don’t need to be an expert in hearing God’s voice. But you, and every Christian, need to have a foundational understanding of how to hear His voice for your life.

And the hindrance is…
The Bible says in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
One result of a Christian’s lack of understanding in the basics of how to hear what God is saying is “mistakes.”
When I say “mistakes,” I’m talking about you (and I) making wrong decisions because you don't know what God wants. These bad decisions take you off the path, delay your purpose and possibly even destroy the destiny God has for you.
Sometimes it can be because you don't follow God's leading as you know you should. Other times it's because you really don't know what God is saying. So you make decisions based on your own reasoning and emotions.
Either way, these "mistakes" of not following God's voice end up costing you lots of lost time. They delay God's promises for you.
And this leaves you with questions like...
... why is it not happening?
... what am I doing wrong?
... where did I miss it?
... is God not going to do what He said?
This is why I want to help you.
Because I've seen in my life and the lives of many others, how not understanding God's personal plan for you and not hearing what He says can be costly.
I’ve also had my share of opportunities in life to allow hurt, bitterness, anger, resentment. There’s been times when I could have allowed my life to be taken off course.
But every time… I kept pursuing Jesus.
I sat at His feet and worshipped Him like I did when I was 15 years old.
That's part of the reason for this site. To help you like God has helped me.
Now, it's time for you to start seeing, hearing and knowing in the Spirit. It's time for you to begin experiencing and walking in what God has already planned for you.
With the Word of God and the Spirit of God, you'll walk with Jesus Christ in Spirit and Truth like you never thought possible.
And enter into the ecstasy of experiencing God.
That’s why you are reading right now.
Because it’s time for the light of God to set you ablaze. Especially in hearing God’s voice.
So, now we’re ready for the foundation.
