Revealed: 2 keys to breakout of impossible situations

Written by Eric

You might be in a place where you feel like things aren’t working. Like you’re not progressing spiritually, financially, and in other areas like you should.

It feels like it’s hard and all wrong.

What do you do?

Well, I’m reminded of a scene from the movie, You’ve Got Mail, with Tom Hanks. If you haven’t seen it, Tom plays the son of a wealthy father and grandfather who are shrewd businessmen. Their business is a big book conglomerate like Barnes and Noble back in the hay day.

In the process, they are putting little book shops out of business.

Meg Ryan’s character is the owner of The Shop Around the Corner. Her tiny shop is “just around the corner” from the “big bad” Fox’s Books owned by Hanks. Unbeknownst to both of them, they’ve struck up an anonymous friendship online. During this tumultuous time when her shop is threatened with closure from his megatropolis, she confides her business troubles with her online friend.

HIs advice to her was straight from the Godfather movies. He said…

“Go to the mattresses.”

Honestly, I don’t remember much from the Godfather movies. My mind probably purposely blocked it all out. But whatever the case is, I’ll give you my version of “Go to the mattresses.”

When everything doesn’t seem right, like it’s not working and you don’t know where to turn… that’s the perfect time to…

Go to the Word.

When you desperately need to hear from God, your very life is depending upon it, a life and death decision is imminent and you need a guaranteed word from the Lord…

Go to the Word.

Every time you open the Bible, God is speaking to you. Think about it like this, when you’re grabbing hold of the Bible, you’re grabbing hold of The Voice of God.

Pretty cool.

The point is, the Bible isn’t a dead book written by dead men. It’s a book of Words flooded with the very Life of God.

It’s the book of His Voice.

Now, let’s take this one step further.

Another key that goes hand in hand with this is…

… don’t just flip open anywhere. Obviously, everywhere you open to in the Bible is God speaking. But when it comes to His Voice, don’t reinvent the wheel every time.

There are things God has already said about your situation in the book of His Voice.

(Wow, I like that. This is my first time using that phrase. Guaranteed I’m going to be using it more.)

To avoid reinventing the wheel by having to start hearing God completely from scratch every time, you want to learn to hear the voice of God in conjunction with the Word.

For example, last night I was sitting at my table working on a project. Suddenly, a scripture in Matthew 26 came to me. I wasn’t thinking meditating on the Word. I wasn’t in the middle of studying the Word at the moment. It was out of the blue.

Well, I’ve learned to pay attention to those instances. Because that’s God leading and speaking to me. The Bible says one of the jobs of Holy Spirit is to “bring back to your remembrance all that I have spoken to you.”

Well, what has Jesus already spoken to you? His Word, the Bible. He is the Word Made Flesh.

Immediately, I grabbed my Bible sitting next to me and flipped open to Matthew 26. And there was a scripture in that chapter that completely rocked my world. In a matter of a few minutes, I was crying and laughing, thanking God for showing me what I needed to do in a situation in my own life.

Was I praying? No.

Was I on my knees begging God for an answer? No.

I was sitting at my dining room table working on a project. But I’ve taken time to learn and cultivate hearing the voice of God. Something I am aware of and continually practice. So, when He speaks to me, I immediately recognize it for what it is…

… the voice of God.

That’s when it gets exciting. Because God will lead you to treasures you didn’t know existed in the Bible. Like last night for me. I’d never seen before what God opened my eyes to. Then, it was so obvious to me. Like, “Oh my goodness, why didn’t I see that before?”

It’s in the intimacy with Jesus. In that relationship with Him, He explains all to you.

In my newsletter, I teach you how to go into the depths of hearing His voice. Because at the end of the day, His Voice is all we have.

Money can go away tomorrow.

Material possessions can go away.

Businesses and jobs can go away.

Your family and friends can go away.

But what will sustain you and keep you in the middle of complete hell on earth… is His Voice.

The first step is getting on the email list…
